About the Artist

Alan has been a lot of things over the years. A telecom product manager. A coal miner. A world traveler and father of three. And no matter the journey, he has always had a particular knack for capturing them in the margins of his notebooks. 

One day, his middle son suggested he try putting those moments on canvas. The rest is history. 

Alan was initially inspired by the positive impact that art therapy had during a friend’s brave fight against childhood leukemia.  He has donated many of his works to the annual Samantha Schmidt Hearts for Art Benefit in her honor where all proceeds support Pediatric Leukemia Research at Cooks Children’s Hospital.

Alan specializes in acrylic and oil based art with a particular eye for painting expressive and colorful landscapes. His unique gift for line and color graces mantles across the country.

He currently resides in Allen, Tx.
